The only Mitchell Sewall I have record of was born in
1699 and died in 1748. He was said to "Registrar of Deeds of Essex County
from 1727 until his death."
See John Rees' site at: http://www.sewellgenealogy.com/p209.htm#i64 for more details.
Does anyone have any ideas about Mitchell Sewall, "Register of Deeds" from 1692 - 1727 a shown below? Should this be "Registrar of Deeds"? I thought the "register" is the written record and the person who looks after the record is the "registrar".
I am sorry for the poor quality of the image. This is a "gif" image and I had trouble making it it fit the page. As well, the gentleman who shared this image with us didn't indicate his source. I have asked for the source. Try clicking HERE to see the image full size.
