Generation One
William Smith

Born:  circa 1635
Married:  September 4, 1661 to Elizabeth Hartley. Click here for Elizabeth's ancestry.
Died:  June 2, 1632

William Smith owned a barn in Newport Pagnell High Street called "The Great Meeting House."  In 1660 he allowed it to be used by local people who were Dissenters, including Puritans. The site of the barn is still in use as a place of worship.
William served in the Army of the Commonwealth.  He moved from Isle of Ely in Cambridgeshire to Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire.  Both William and Elizabeth were buried in one grave in the Isle on the south side of the Font in the Parish Church at Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire.  William was buried on June 20, 1682 and Elizabeth on March 5, 1711/12.

Generation Two
James Smith

Born:  October 3, 1665
Died:  August 7, 1720 in Passenham, Northamptonshire.
James married Susannah Pargiter. Unfortunately the old Parish Register is lost so exact dates for their marriage and the birth of their children are unknown. Susannah inherited Sherrington Manor from her father in 1710.
James Smith and Susannah Pargiter had the following children:

Dryden Smith
Born:  circa 1701
Married:  September 3, 1730 to Mary Huggins
Died:  March 9, 1770 and buried at Passenham
Dryden was a very successful shipwright at Wapping in East London.

Dryden Smith
Born:  baptised on July 19, 1741 at St.George in the East, Wapping (an independent Church.)
Married:  March 2, 1781 to Ann Cooper in Sherrington, Buckinghamshire.
Died:  April 19, 1810 in
Sherrington, Buckinghamshire.
Dryden Smith and Ann Cooper had the following children:

Samuel Smith
Born:  January 8, 1792; baptised at the Great Meeting House, Newport Pagnell.
Married:  December 7, 1814 to Emma Jane Wake at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
Died:  1872 at Cardiff, Wales.

Married:  April 16, 1846 to Sylvia Cooksey at Holborn, London.
Died:  1900 at Windsor, Berkshire.
George Griggs Smith and Sylvia Cooksey had the following children:

Born:  March 22, 1875 in Kensington, London

Died:  May 5, 1918 at Acton, Middlesex.

Born:  October 19, 1900 at Acton, Middlesex.
Married:  July 14, 1928 to Elsie Nunn at Acton, Middlesex.
Died:  May 18, 1941 at Hillingdon, Middlesex.
